Conversion and renovation

The former Hotel-Pension Rigibahn, built in 1873, underwent an expansion in 1929 that was carried out by the architect Arnold Berger under the name Hotel Terminus. Due to this remodeling, which included a semi-circular panorama hall overlooking the lake, the building is today considered an important monument and is fully protected. In 1964 it was renamed Hotel Terrasse am See to reflect the architecture with its spectacular view.

The hotel is still in operation today and is in good condition. Nevertheless, the current interior design no longer matches the potential of this architectural pearl and its fantastic location. In addition, the heart of the building, the rondel, can only be used to a limited extent in the cold seasons, and the kitchen infrastructure does not meet the requirements for gastronomy. This is now to change. Under new management, the Rondell will also be able to operate all year round - as a historic hotel that has arrived in the modern age.

The aim of the renovation is to improve the climatic and operational situation while conserving the protected building. The architectural concept is based on the state of the hotel in 1930. New elements blend in harmoniously, but also give the rooms a fresh feel, doing justice to the present and the past. Both can be experienced in the interplay of old and new. In a first phase, the kitchen, restaurant, veranda and the impressive roundel will be restored and renovated. With your donation you can directly shape the future of the Hotel Terrasse am See.
