The Foundation for Hotel Heritage Switzerland

is committed to preserving historic hotels as part of Switzerland's cultural heritage and architectural legacy.

Historic hotels are unique testimonies to the history of tourism. They shape landscapes, places and identities, and combine architecture, use and social development across generations.

Their cultural value is evident not only in the building fabric, but also in the diverse sources and archives that document their history.

At the same time, many of these buildings face an uncertain future today: economic challenges, changes of ownership and structural alterations threaten their substance and character. Important evidence of their history is also lost or remains inaccessible.

This is where the Foundation for Hotel Heritage Switzerland comes in. It contributes to making this heritage visible, safeguarding it and developing it further in a high-quality manner.

In doing so, it contributes to the architectural legacy, the sustainable development of tourism, and the cultural identity of Switzerland.
